Wolters Kluwer Financial Services was unable to keep their staffing levels in line with their growth and project based needs. The combination of working through a human resources recruitment department based out of Chicago, IL and large, national staffing firms was not netting the technical teams the type, quality, and number of candidates they needed for their specialized departments.

Our Solution

Utilizing our sector recruitment model, where individual recruiters are tasked with working within one technical “sector,” and our extensive network we were able to attack the candidate marketplace at a level unattainable by either a remote HR team staffed by generalist recruiters OR a national staffing firm staffed by equally generalist recruiters.

Examples of the niche positions we filled for WKFS, that other firms and WKFS internal recruiting were unable to fill include:

  • An experienced, hands-on manager tasked with building a new Technical Writing department
  • Technical Project Manager to liaise between internal/external clients across multiple departments in a client-wide software product upgrade
  • Junior business analyst role designed to grow into a professional services consulting role
  • Multiple System Engineering openings in a growing data center
  • Multiple Software Quality Assurance openings with unique skill/experience requirements for each role

In each of these instances we recruited, presented, and secured the candidate who ultimately filled the position that moved WKFS’ agenda forward, allowing them to meet or exceed their client’s expectations. The net results of our efforts were dramatically improved, “time to fill,” which resulted in saved project dollars and deadlines.

Additionally, because we were able to utilize our Sector model and strong technical network to access candidates that were previously inaccessible to the remote internal HR recruiting team or the national generalist firms, we brought WKFS a level of candidate they had not been seeing. Many of these candidates had specialized knowledge that was previously unavailable to WKFS. These resources brought a level of expertise and experience that dramatically reduced ramp-up times and allowed WKFS to more quickly meet their end-client’s needs and reduce overall project length. This saved both dollars and engendered good will that will help to secure future business and customer retention.
